Liqueurs and distilled liquors

Whether steeped or distilled, Sardinian liqueurs and spirits preserve intact the flavours and scents of the natural environment in which they are born. Myrtle Liqueur contains all the perfume of Mediterranean brush. Mirto di Sardegna is made from the berries (red myrtle) and leaves (white myrtle) of Myrtus Communis.

Very popular in Sardinia, it is drunk as a liqueur after important meals. Lemon Liqueur (also known as Limoncello), with a flavour both delicate and intense, is best enjoyed at the end of a meal and is also a basic ingredient in delicious sorbets.

You can appreciate the skills of the vintners and distillers in the intense flavour of Filu ’e Ferru, the "eau de vie" so named because in past times it was buried in bottles in the fields, with just a small piece of wire emerging to mark its hiding place.
